The MMM New Zealand Centre is located at Pirongia, a small rural town in the North Island, two hour drive south of Auckland and 30 minutes from Hamilton.
As the first work teams began in the 1980s, Australia sent a number of work teams to work on different projects in New Zealand. In October 1994 MMM New Zealand was officially launched at the GLO Training Centre near Te Awamutu
The first MMM New Zealand full time couple, Charles and Ruth Sungren from Tauranga, were commissioned 1994. At the beginning of 1995 Peter and Kay Brown and family arrived from Australia to assist for the next six years. In September 1995 a former Bible School properety at Pirongia was generously provided for MMM’s use. This has now become an operational and staff accomodation centre.
MMM New Zealand has registered Charitable Trust status with IRD.
MMM New Zealand has project responsibility for all of New Zealand and the South Pacific area. They have also established a regional centre in Fiji.
